Our Mission 
Therapeutic Choices Counseling Services has a mission to provide quality, comprehensive, mental health services to individuals, couples, families, and grouips to help them return to a healthy life style the client is comfortable with.


Jeanie Shimmin is a LIMHP mental health provider.  She has been in practice since 2009.  Jeanie began her journey in Wyoming working at St. Josephs Children's Home where she worked with children ages 6 to 18 with mental health and behavioral disorders.  In 2013 she returned to North Platte where she assisted clients at Lutheran Family Services.  In 2015 Jeanie Opened Therapeutic Choices, where she began seeing clients privately.  She uses EMDR,  CBT, solution focus, motivational interviewing and other modes in her sessions.  Jeanie specializes in Trauma care and uses EMDR to help her clients process traumatic experiences.   Jeanie assists clients between the ages of 12 and 100 suffering from trauma.  Her clients consist of people who have suffered a car accident, military combat, loss of a loved one, sexual assault or abuse, dangerous police situations or firefighter situations, etc.  Jeanie also provides couples therapy for those couples struggling to keep it together. Jeanie is also trained to use EMDR to manage substance abuse urges and for pain control.  If you are interested in seeing if you are a candidate for Jeanie please give her a call she would love to talk with you about your options.

Shayla McEntee is a PLMHP mental health provider. She has been working with Jeanie since October of 2021. She helps clients with processing traumatic experiences, grief, anxiety, depression, and other mental health and behavioral disorders. She uses EMDR and CBT, with a person centered approach in her sessions. Shayla assists clients between the ages of 6 and 100. She received her Masters of Science in Clinical Counseling from the University of Jamestown in North Dakota.
